William Francis Dies

William Francis Dies, 65, of Warren, PA, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 4, 2024, at UPMC Hamot, Erie, PA. 

Bill was born August 24, 1958, in Warren, the son of the late Delbert “Dub” Dies and Eleanor Smith Dies. He worked at Bolinger Enterprises. He spent his early childhood summers at Camp Cornplanter and recent summers at Wesley Woods.  He enjoyed collecting firetrucks, traveling and spending with family.  He was involved with Special Olympics, where he participated in swimming, basketball and bowling.  

Bill is survived by his three siblings, Bonnie Dies Cruickshank and husband James, Tom Dies and wife Marilee, and Nancy Dies Campbell and husband Neil, all of North Carolina, cousin Rick Dies and wife Linda of Warren, Pa, and several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by many aunts and uncles; and nephew, Brian Cruickshank. 

The family would like to thank Lifestyle Support Services Inc, especially the staff at his group home for the wonderful care they provider for him. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Special Olympics PA-Northwest Region, Attn. Deanna Renaud, 8161 Oliver Rd., Erie, PA 16509, the Allegheny Community Center, or the Warren YMCA Firefly Program.
