Shirley Edgren Obituary

Shirley A. Edgren, 86, of Jamestown, NY, passed away surrounded by her loving family at her daughter Susan’s home in Warren on Saturday evening, February 19, 2022,

Shirley was born July 8, 1935, in Munson, PA, the daughter of the late Richard and Eulalia Williams Edgren. She was a 1956 graduate of the Southwestern Central High School and a 1954 graduate of the Jamestown School of Practical Nursing. Shirley was employed with the Lutheran Social Services as an aide, from which she retired in 1997. Shirley was an active member of the Pilgrim Memorial United Church of Christ and the Westside Women’s Club. Her regular hobbies included daily crossword puzzles, playing cards, and collecting miniatures for her dollhouse that was displayed for all to admire.

Shirley will be forever remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and longtime friend of many.

Shirley is survived by four daughters, Juli Nemeth and her husband Mike, of Elberon, VA, Cynthia Dupere and her husband Allen, of Dallas, GA, Susan Williams and her husband Ken, of Warren, PA, and Brenda Holt, of Franklin, PA; a sister, Beverly Marie and her husband Ron, of Fort Myers, FL; nine grandchildren, Theresa and Hannah Nemeth, Amber Hagemann and husband Kyle, Kyle Swift and wife Kristin, Alissa Dupere, Natasha Sposata and husband Zack, Robert and Bruce Gould, and Allyson Holt; six great grandchildren, Emmett and Owen Hagemann, Brandon Swift, Jewel Sylvia, and Violet and Azalea Bradbury; and nieces Kelli and Kim.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Alice Rose Hagemann.

A celebration of Shirley’s life is being planned and will be announced at a later date.

The family suggests donations in memory of Shirley be sent to Hospice of Warren, One Main Ave. Warren, PA 16365 or to the Pilgrim Memorial United Church of Christ, 70 McKinley Ave, Jamestown, NY 14701.
