Ronald L. Hillard, 63, of Warren, PA, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2023, following a recent illness.
Ron was born July 1, 1959, in Warren, the son of the late Howard and Catherine Tridico Hiilard. He attended School in Jamestown, NY, and went to work at 16 years
old for the Homer City Power plant in Homer City, PA. He then did a lot of travelling doing construc- tion and contracting jobs throughout the country. Ron later worked in the Paint Shop at the Warren State Hospital for 30 years from which he retired in 2017.
He enjoyed life to the fullest and loved 4 wheel- ing wth family and was an avid hunter and tracker, and just being outdoors. He was a friend to many and was always willing to lend someone a hand. Ron was an avid and diehard fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Most, and foremost, he was family man, he dearly loved his wife, his children, and especially loved his grandchildren. He will be sorrily missed by his family and his many friends.
Ron is survived by his wife, Cynthia L. Salapek Hillard, whom he married on January 4, 1992; two sons, Heath H. Hillard and wife Bethany of Indiana, PA, Josef R. Hillard and wife Melinda of Warren; a daughter, Christie A Hillard and her companion Joshua Haskins; two brothers, Terry Hillard and his wife Carole of Reading, PA, and Mark Hillard and his wife Lori of Aylett, VA; and Ron’s nine grandchildren, Avery Hillard, Bella Hillard, Vincen Hillard, Waylon Hillard, Kinley Hillard, Sirus Has- kins, Macy Hillard, Carter Haskins, and Khloe Has- kins; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home Inc., 1003 Penna. Ave. East, Warren, PA 16365, on Wednesday, May
31, from 4:00 until 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at the First Lutheran Church of Warren, 109 West Third Ave., Warren, PA, with The Reverend Jeffrey Ewing, Pastor, officiating.
