Philip “Butch” Rockwell, 71, of Russell, PA, passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2023, at the John and Orpha Blair Hospice House in Warren. He was born on June 18, 1951, in Jamestown, NY, the son of the late Frank Harmon Rockwell and Lillian Nelson Rockwell.
He was a 1969 graduate of Eisenhower High School. Phil went to work at Warren State Hospital upon graduation and worked there until ill health forced him to retire.
Phil enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, the casino, riding his 4-wheeler, long rides in the country, and spending time with family.
Phil is survived by a sister, Susan Black and husband Patrick; three stepchildren, Dave, Christina, and Michael Myers; two step grandchildren, Conner and Josh Myers; a special nephew, Todd Rodencal; a special niece, Carin Giannini, who helped care for him; sister-in-law, Evelyn Rockwell, and brother-in-law, Steve Carrington; and many more nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Phil is preceded in death in 2011, by his wife, Sandra Rockwell; fiancé in 2022, Jeanette Zurcher; two brothers, David and Donald Rockwell; four sisters, Linda Ecklund, Mollie Rockwell, Cathleen Knights, and Veryl Carrington; niece Janice Black Novak; and his beloved dog, Jake.
Services for Phil will be held at a later date.
