Linda Diane Steele

Linda Diane Steele, 74, of Warren, PA, passed away on June 17, 2022, at the Warren Manor. Linda was born on October 2, 1947, in Evergreen Park, Illinois, the daughter of the late Oliver Nielsen and Marion Smith Nielsen. Linda earned a Bachelor’s Degree at Western Illinois University in Macomb, Ill. She was a Teacher’s Aide at the Warren County School District from which she retired. Linda was a member of the Irvine Presbyterian Church where she was involved in various women’s groups and was a Sunday School teacher. She did a lot of volunteer work around the area after her retirement which included helping at the school district and Headstart, painting toys at the Toy Shop, working at the greenhouse and helping at the resale shop. She liked to bake, especially for neighbors and the bake sales at the church. She also liked to read and was an avid gardener. She is survived by her sister Susan Panozzo and husband Don from Naperville, Ill; two nieces Chantal and husband Brian and Catherine and husband Jeremy; and five great nieces and nephews, Madeline, Perry, Sophia, Oliver, and Louis. In addition to her parents, Linda is preceded in death by her husband John “Jack” Steele whom she married on August 8, 1998. A memorial service for Linda will be held at Irvine Presbyterian Church, 905 National Forge Rd Irvine, PA, on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at 11:00 am, with the Reverend Dennis Ledebar, officiating.
