Gregory (Greg) S. Nagurney, Sr., 65, of Warren, PA, passed away at his home on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, with Mary C. Munch Nagurney, his wife, by his side. Greg was born on January 3, 1957, in Warren, the son of Anthony (Kit) Nagurney and Norma J. Andersen Nagurney. His youth was spent in the Brokenstraw Creek behind his parents’ home, where he forged a lifelong connection with the natural world. He was also a passionate skier who spent his winters at the Buckaloons Ski Area in Youngsville, PA. Greg went on to graduate from Youngsville High School in 1974, received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Edinboro University, and a Masters in Elementary and Secondary School Guidance at St. Bonaventure University. He was a guidance counselor and history teacher for 31 years with the Warren County School District before retiring in 2012.
Greg was an outdoorsman, who shared his love with his family for hunting, fishing, boating at Chautauqua Lake, while patiently teaching everyone to ski at Peek n Peak. In his retirement, he was a member of the Pine Grove Sportman’s Club, the Kalbfus Club, and shot in the Penn-York trap league. He was also an avid reader and historian. Greg asked that we express his deep gratitude for the thoughtful messages, cards, gifts, and compassion of his friends, colleagues, and community throughout his final years.
