Dorothy W. Wingert, 92, of Warren, PA. passed away on September 9, 2023, at the John & Orpha Blair Hospice Residence.
Dottie was born on June 12, 1931, in Washington, PA, the daughter of the late Clare and Helen White. She graduated from Mt. Pleasant Township High School, Hickory, PA, in 1949. Dottie graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 1953 with a BS in Home Economics. She moved to Warren with her husband Bernie Wingert in 1955 settling in Warren County. Dottie was employed by the Warren County School District for 17 years, retiring in 1984. Upon her retirement she became Co-Administrator of the Watson Memorial Home with her husband for ten years. In 2018 she and her husband moved to the Suites at the Rouse.
Dottie enjoyed many years of sewing for her three daughters, grandchildren, and herself. She was a member and volunteer at the First Presbyterian Church from 1956 until her death. Dottie enjoyed traveling with her husband and friends on trips throughout the US, and Europe. She was one of the first 500 women to live on campus at Penn State. Dottie enjoyed Saturday tailgates before the big games at Penn State. She was always willing to listen and loved her family most of all.
Dottie is survived by three daughters: Nancy Wise and husband Russell of Roswell, GA, Susan Hanson and husband William of State College, PA, Jane Strohmeyer and husband Richard of Warren, PA: a brother Samuel White Youngstown, OH, a brother George White Houston, PA; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two nieces and four nephews.
In addition to her parents Dottie is preceded in death by her husband Bernard L. Wingert whom she married on June 12, 1954, in Hickory, PA. and by a brother William White of Cochranton, PA.

A Church service will be held in her memory on Sunday October 15th at 10:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church.
