Deborah Lee Prowitt

Deborah Lee Prowitt, 76, of Russell, PA, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2023 at the St. Vincent Hospital in Erie, PA, following a recent illness. Deborah was born October 24, 1947, in Erie, PA, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Colleen Walker Manelick. She was a graduate of Eisenhower High School. She was a member and faithful attendee of the Russell United Methodist Church. She spent her time as a wife and homemaker. She also devoted time to the Revitalization of Akeley and Russell group. First and foremost, her life was her family and the time spent with them. She was also an avid reader, loved to paint and crochet many items for her family to cherish. Deborah will be forever remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to many. Deborah is survived by her husband, William E. Prowitt, whom she married on July 15, 1967; a son, Michael Prowitt and his wife KC of Russell; a daughter, LeeAnn Prowitt of Russell; three sisters, Vicki Williams of Russell, Cindy Wiedmaier and husband Steve of Jamestown, NY, and Mindy Snarburg and husband Mark of Russell; one brother, Greg Manelick and wife Shannon of Russell; her four grandchildren, Sage Crabtree, Makenna Drayer, Hunter Drayer, and Mercedes Drayer; and one great-grandchild, Kolbi Crabtree. In addition to her parents and a sister, Laura Hotaling; Deborah and her husband also lost a son, Mark Prowitt. Services for Deborah will be private and at the convenience of the family.
