David Paul Tomica, 72, of Warren, PA, passed away at St. Vincent Hospital, on Thursday May 19, 2022.
David was born June 22, 1949, in Bradford, Pa., the son of the late Joseph and Avanell Witherow Tomica.
David was employed for many years at the National Forge Company and later at Cummins Engine and West Penn Oil. He was a graduate of Bradford High School and attended Edinboro University. He was a Vietnam Veteran having served in the U.S. Army. He was a former member of the American Legion Post 135 and the Eagles Club. David was an avid hunter, loved animals and bird watching, loved music, and played bass in several bands. Most of all he loved his family, friends, and especially his grandchildren.
David is survived by his wife Joan Harris Tomica; three stepchildren, Joanna Lawson of Warren, Jeffery Rogers and wife Amy of Center Hill, Fl., and Justin Nichols of Warren; a brother, Daniel Tomica of Detroit, MI., two nieces, Beth, and Ellen; a nephew Danny; and three grandchildren, Malorie Lawson, Jayden Rogers, and Jake Lawson.
Friends will be received at the Peterson – Blick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Penna Ave, E. Warren, Pa., on Tuesday May 24, from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon, at which time a funeral service will be held with Rev. Rick Hamrick, pastor, Youngsville Free Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Gibbs Hill Cemetery, Ludlow, Pa.
