Anthony Joseph Hoehn Jr., 81, of Warren and formerly of Albion, PA, passed away on Friday, November 19, 2021, from complications of Covid 19.
Tony was born July 26, 1940, in Erie, PA, the son of Anthony J. Hoehn Sr., and Gertrude Yeager Hoehn. Following high school, Tony served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Tony then attended the Philadelphia School of Nursing where became a nurse and the later a nurse anesthetist while enlisted in the U.S. Army, becoming an officer, for a continued for a total service time of twenty years.
Tony was a very active man, he raised all types of animals, he enjoyed hunting, trapping, fishing, and gardening. He loved to read and in his later years he liked listening to audio books.
Tony is survived by his wife, Barbara J. Johnson Hoehn, whom he married on April 2, 1987; six children, Anthony J. Hoehn III, of Erie, Pa., Shawn F. (Dee) Hoehn, of Florence, S.C., Melissa L. Vela, of Tucson, AZ., Paul A. Hoehn, of Erie, Pa., Brian (Brenda) Huntoon, of Warren, Pa., and Michael Johnson, of Warren, Pa.; two siblings, James Hoehn, of McKean, Pa., Robert (Gerry) Hoehn, of New Port News, VA.; fourteen grandchildren, fifteen great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Tony is preceded in death by his sister, Mary Belovarac; and stepdaughter, Kimberly Gardiner.
Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, November 23, at the Peterson – Blick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Penna Ave E, Warren, from 10 am to 11:00 am, at which time a funeral service will be held with The Rev. Buddy Ward, pastor, North Warren First Presbyterian Church officiating.
Burial will be in the Erie County Memorial Park.
