Allen K. McIntosh, 82, of Warren, Pa, passed away following a lengthy illness on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at the John & Orpha Blair Hospice House. Allen was born September 15, 1940, in Warren, the son of the late Keith & Olive (Olson) McIntosh. As a youth, Allen enjoyed many hours exploring the Allegheny River and Mead Island near his family home in Starbrick, PA. A 1958 graduate of Warren High School, Allen went on to Thiel College where he obtained a B.A. in Psychology in 1962. He was employed by GTE Government Systems and TRW among other opportunities. Allen made his homes for his family in Washington, DC, Massachusetts, and West Virginia, where his two children Keith and Lane, were born. Allen possessed a keen interest and appreciation for 18th and 19th century architecture. Prior to building his own home in Hubbardston, MA, Allen restored a Ca 1773 stone dwelling in Kearneysville, WV, “Travellers Rest”, also known as the General Horatio Gates home. His appreciation for early architecture had continued while living in Warren where he was a founding member of the Warren Landmark Foundation. Allen is survived by his wife, Meredith (Hunter) McIntosh, whom he married on October 25, 2003; children, Keith R. McIntosh and wife Caroline of Gerrardstown, W.V., and Lane E. McIntosh and wife Rebecca of Charles Town, W.V.; grandchildren, Henry, Oliver, and Virginia McIntosh, and Evelyn Tabb; brother, Dr. Brian McIntosh and life partner, Amy Muscaro of Warren. Allen also leaves behind his furry companion, Luci. A Celebration of Life service officiated by the Reverend Jeffrey Ewing of First Lutheran Church, will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at their home, 400 Allen Lane, Warren, beginning at 11:00am. A luncheon for close friends and family will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Warren County Historical Society, 210 4th Ave., Warren, PA; and to First Lutheran Church, 109 W Third Ave., Warren, PA.
