William Tracy Madigan (Bill), 85, of Warren, passed away on November 5, 2018, after a lengthy illness. Bill was born on May 24, 1933, to the late Garvin and Bernice (Magee) Madigan. He was employed for 43 years at GTE Sylvania/OSRAM. He was the founder and owner of Sherwood Forest Campground, also known as Madigan Mountain. Bill was an avid hunter, fisherman, and archer. He loved nature and the great outdoors. He enjoyed traveling, going to the Casino, bowling and most of all enjoyed working. He was a member of the Elks. Bill was married to the late Patricia Louise Phinney Madigan for 50 wonderful years and is survived by a very significant other, Carolyn Carr, as a dear and loving companion for 16 years. Bill and Pat have three children, Michael Madigan (Marcia), Scott Madigan (Heather) and Deborah Nuturo (John); siblings, Shannon Phinney, Roger, Michael and Larry Madigan; 11 grandchildren, Matthew Madigan (Erica), Maria Palmieri (John), Melody Madigan, Margo Madigan, Kelly Mitchell, Kristen Sheldon (David), Michael Mitchell (Abigail), Christopher Madigan (Jodi), Tyler Madigan, Benjamin Madigan, Taylor Madigan; 15 grandchildren, Ryan, Kaitlyn and Lindsay Madigan, Johnny, Marisa, Michael and Vivien Palmieri, Chester Madigan, Xavier, Avery and Madison Mitchell, Haylee Ellis, Annabel and Isaac Sheldon, and Chloe Mitchell. In addition to his parents and wife, Bill was preceded in death by his siblings, Arlene Schuler, Daniel, Theodore (Slip), Clayton, Orville (Tony), Garvin (Jack), and Patrick Madigan; a granddaughter, Michell Mitchell; a great grandson, Gabriel Mitchell; and his in-laws, Harry and Louise Phinney. Friends will be received on Wednesday, November 7, from 12-2 pm at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, 1003 Penna. Ave. E. Warren, PA 16365, with a service to follow, the Rev. Jeff Ewing, pastor, officiating. The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Paws Along the River Humane Society, 212 Elm St, Warren, PA 16365, or to PAPES Wild Wood Animal Park, Cherry Grove.
