IN LOVING MEMORY OF
William F.
Hunt
January 5, 1927 – October 7, 2015
William France Hunt, 88, of 349 S. Main St., Russell, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, October 7, 2015.
William "Bill" was born on January 5, 1927, in Warren. He served in the Navy from 1944 to 1946, and had participated in the D-Day invasion and the Pacific Conflict. He received the American Theater Medal, Victory Medal, European Theater Medal, and the Asiatic Pacific Medal. Bill continued to serve his country through the Naval Reserves from 1951 to 1955.
He was employed at New Process where he met and fell in love with Beverly Jean Lundmark. They married on November 7, 1953, and built their home in Russell, where they resided and raised their three children. From New Process, Bill was employed at Rex Carpenters Meat Packing Company in Townville, PA. He was a meat salesman traveling throughout Northwestern PA, where he was well liked. A lot of the stores looked forward to him coming because he always had a joke or story to tell. From there, he went to Fairbanks Farms in Ashville, NY, and upon retirement, he worked part-time at Hunter's Market on Conewango Avenue.
Bill was an avid bowler for over 50 years. He also loved fishing, hunting and enjoyed lawn mowing for neighbors and friends. He volunteered at the Warren County Fair and he and his late wife, Beverly, enjoyed camping there for many years. He has been a member of the AkeleyUnitedMethodistChurch since 1971.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Jean Lundmark Hunt, on May 25, 2010. He is survived by his three children, Terry L. Hunt, and wife, Suzanne, of Russell, Kim M. York, and husband, Jeffrey, of Warren, and James V. Hunt, and wife, Kelly, of Russell; eight grandchildren, Daniel L. Hunt, and wife, Alaina, Kevin M. Hunt, and wife, Adrianne, Christie E. Hamm, and husband, John, Micah W. York, and wife, Nicole, Kaylyn L. York, Kyle J. Hunt, Karrie M. Hunt and Kael L. Hunt; and two great-grandchildren, Brody T. and Ariana M. Hunt.
Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Penna. Ave. E., Warren, on Sunday, October 11, from 5 to 8 p.m. A celebration of his life will be held at the AkeleyUnitedMethodistChurch, Old Warren-Jamestown Road, Russell, on Monday, October 12, at 1 p.m., with Rev. David Heckman, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in HaleCemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the AkeleyUnitedMethodistChurch, PO Box 121, Russell, PA 16345.
