Wayne R. Swanson, 73, of Warren, Pa., passed away on August 17, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Wayne was born on March 22, 1950, in Kane, Pa., the son of the late Warren "Bob" and Janet Paul Swanson. Wayne was a 1968 graduate of Sheffield High School and then earned his B.A. Degree at The Fairmont State University in Fairmont W.V. Wayne was a plant manager, and director of Sales and Marketing at GTE Osram Sylvania from which he retired. After retiring Wayne loved to travel. Wayne most recently traveled to his favorite destination, Paris, in March of this year. Switzerland, Germany, and Italy were also amongst his favorite countries to travel to. He was a member of North Warren Presbyterian Church. Wayne was active in the Warren community, coaching little league softball and baseball, kids' basketball, and volunteering for the cub scouts. He was an avid golfer and member of the Blueberry Hill Golf Club. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Wayne will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Wayne is survived by his children, Nicholas "Nick" Swanson and wife Jaime of Arvada Colorado, Heidi Swanson, and companion Patrick Haslett of Warren; and his special friend Nancy Latimer of Sheffield; sisters, Carole Brown of Lancaster, Pa., Ellen Swanson and her husband Lenny Robbins of Sienna, Italy, and brother Brian Swanson of Washington; two grandchildren, Charley, and Wyatt Swanson; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death on June 23, 2007, by his wife Margaret Stevenson Swanson, whom he married on July 17, 1976. Family and friends will be received on Saturday August 26, 2023, from 11:00 am– 2:00 pm, at the Peterson – Blick Funeral Home, 1003 Penna Ave E. Warren, PA.
