Virginia Carmen Lindell Cathcart, born on April 24, 1932, in Warren County, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2025, at the home of her daughter Anne Depue in Gardners, Pennsylvania. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Donald Cathcart, her parents Ernest and Ruth Lindell, and her brother Maurice Lindell. After graduating from Taylor University in 1953, Virginia married and spent most of her life in Preble, New York, where she was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church. Her deep faith in her Savior Jesus Christ and devotion to her church were central to her life, as she enjoyed many years as a church secretary. She also found joy and purpose in sewing and generously donated many of her handmade items to crisis pregnancy centers, reflecting her compassionate spirit and commitment to helping others. She is survived by her children: Anne (James) Depue, Dean (Jane) Cathcart, and Lawrence (Wendy) Cathcart. Virginia's legacy lives on through her 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews who will remember her with love. Virginia's life was a testament to her faith, generosity, and love for family. Graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 15 at 2 p.m. at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Russell, PA. Memorial service to be held on Monday, February 17 at Calvary Baptist Church, 6753 NY-281, Preble, NY 13141. Calling hour from 10 – 11 a.m. with service to follow.
