Virginia Annette Bielawski, 94, of Warren passed away peacefully Thursday, April 28, 2016, at the Rouse Home. Virginia was born July 29, 1921, in Warren, PA. She was the daughter of the late John H. and Mary (Drake) Wooster Nelson.
Virginia was a 1940 graduate of Warren High School. She was employed by the Warren State Hospital for two years and as a cook at the Youngsville Dairy Queen in the 1970's for 6 years. She later worked for 6 years in the cafeteria for the Warren County School District. She attended the First Church of the Nazarene, where she was a member of the Charles Fuller Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Warren Senior Center and the Lakewood Rod and Club. She was also a Girl Scout Leader and a member of the Warren Desert Club. Virginia enjoyed volunteering with special needs children and had volunteered at Camp Cornplanter.
She is survived by two daughters, Jean Thompson, of Wichita, KS, and Judy Mader, and husband, Rick, of Sugar Grove, PA; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death on August 10, 2004, by her husband, Edward Bielawski, whom she married January 30, 1943, in Warren; two sons, Edward L. Bielawski, in 1962, and Larry Bielawski, in 2011; three brothers, Harry, Norman, and Charles Wooster; and three sisters, Marcella Duffy, Clara Hunter and Elaine McKelvy.
Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Penn. Ave. E., Warren on Friday, April 29, from 6 to 8 p.m., and on Saturday, April 30, from 10 to 11 a.m., at which time a funeral service will be held there, with Rev. Marcus Briggs, chaplain, Rouse Home and Warren General Hospital, officiating. Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park.
