Violet A. Lawson, age 80, of 109 Beckett Park, North Warren, died Saturday, April 4, 2015, at Cambridge Warren of Warren, PA. Mrs. Lawson was born May 18, 1934, in Warren, PA. She is the daughter of the late Charles and Pauline (Dase) Ristau.
Violet was a licensed practical nurse in the Warren area, working at Warren General Hospital and the Blair Corporation until retiring in 1990. She had also worked private duty for many years. She had attended both the Warren Alliance Church and the Full Gospel Church, where she enjoyed listening to Gospel music on Sunday nights. She and her late husband, Ed, enjoyed spending winters in Florida and flea marketing. Family was very important to Violet, and she loved a good family get-together and baking.
She is survived by two sons, Ernest "Buzz" Lawson, and wife, Linda, Sugar Grove, PA, and Robert Lawson, and wife, Becky, Warren, PA; one sister, Esther Wonderling; two brothers, Franklin Ristau and Richard Ristau; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death on September 2, 2011, by her husband of over 60 years, Edward Allen Lawson; her son, Daniel Lawson, in 2010; three sisters, Lucy VanOrd, Loretta Winger and Betty Jane Jones; and five brothers, Kenneth Ristau, David Ristau, Jim Ristau, Charles (Chuck) Ristau and Gilbert Ristau.
Friends will be received at Peterson - Blick Funeral Home, Inc, 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, PA Tuesday, April 7 from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held there on Wednesday, April 8, at 11 a.m. Rev. Loretta Knapp and Rev. Marcus Briggs, will co-officiate. Burial will be in Chandlers Valley Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Warren County, 1 Main Avenue, Warren, PA 16365 or Cambridge Warren Memory Care, 706 Penn. Ave. W., Warren, PA 16365.
