Verna M Castano, 88, formerly of Rouse Ave, Youngsville, PA, passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at Rouse Warren County Home.

Mrs. Castano was born February 17, 1924, in Warren, PA, the daughter of the late Werner and Helga Lundquist Nyberg. Verna was employed by various beauty shops before owning her own shop in Youngsville for twenty years. She was a member of the Irvine Presbyterian Church. Verna enjoyed many friends, her family, and especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by a daughter, Susan Uber, Union City, PA; a son, Stephen Castano, and his wife Julie, Irvine, PA; five grandchildren, Patrick Uber, Paul Uber, Christopher Castano, Stephanie Castano, and Stacey Eckstrom; five great grandchildren, Derek Uber, Matti Uber, Jacob Uber, Shane Uber, and Keegan Eckstrom; two sisters, Elsa Cottrell, Warren,PA, Helen Clark, and her husband, Robert, Youngsville, PA; three brothers, Henry Nyberg, N. Warren, Everett Nyberg, and his wife, Marilyn, Warren, PA, and Donald Nyberg, and his wife, JoAnne, Carlisle, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents Verna was preceded in death in 1995 by her husband, Patsy V. Castano; and a sister, Marian Wood.

Friends may call at the Peterson - Blick Funeral Home, Inc., 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, on Friday, December 28,  from, 4:30 - 7:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the Irvine Presbyterian Church on Saturday, December 29, at 11:00 a.m., with Dennis Ledebur, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery.
