Tony F. Prosen, 87, of Warren, died Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at Warren General Hospital, following a brief stay. Tony was born February 3, 1929, in Crosby, PA. He was the son of the late John and Antone (Ludwick) Prosen.
Tony was raised in James City, PA. He served in the US Air Force from 1950 to 1954 as a firefighter. Tony returned to Kinzua, PA, and then went on to barbershop school. Tony operated Prosen's Barbershop in Warren for many years, from which he retired.
While his two boys were growing up, Tony coached their Little League teams. He and his late wife, Ivy, were longtime members of the First Church of God, where Tony volunteered as a groundskeeper.
He is survived by two sons, Randy J. Prosen, and wife, Cecelia, of St. Marys, GA, and their children, Julie Ann and Jeralyn, and Rick Prosen, and wife, Angie, of Sheffield, and their children, Miranda, Malloree and Ricky; one great-granddaughter, Zoey; one brother, Joseph M. Prosen, of Warren; one brother-in-law, Tony Ross, and wife, Julie, of Warren; one sister-in-law, Rochelle Mohney, and husband, Mike; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death on February 28, 2016, by his wife of 64 years, Winona "Ivy" Prosen; one brother, John Prosen, Jr.; and his sister-in-law, Yvonne "Gen" Prosen.
Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Penn. Ave. E., Warren, on Friday, July 29, from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral will be held at First Church of God, 1111 Madison Ave., Warren, on Saturday, July 30, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Bill Hargenrader, officiating. Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park.
