Prior to his passing, Toby dictated his own obituary to his children and requested it be published as written. The Rohlin family is honoring his wishes. Toby Lee Rohlin of Russell, PA died on May 26, 2024. He arrived in Warren, PA in the wee hours of August 1, 1944, kicking and screaming, a practice he continued throughout his life. He was the older son of Warren and Joyce Rohlin, and was the grandson of Charles and Hilda Wallen Rohlin and Laurance and Signe Miller Pitt. He attended Warren High School and was a graduate of Embry Riddle Aeronautical Institute. In his younger years, he was a pilot and flight instructor. He taught many people to fly and was particularly proficient at instrument flying. He was a graduate of the US Army Missile School where he became a Pershing Missile Computer Repairman. He served with the 231st Field Artillery, Republic of Vietnam. His final service was as Operations Sergeant of the Missile Testing Division of the Army Artillery Board. He was a graduate of St. Bonaventure University where the Franciscans conferred upon him the Baccalaureate of Finance, Magna Cum Laude. Most of his career was spent as a financial executive, and he was the Fiscal Director of the County of Warren. He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years Debbie Lou Sherwood Rohlin and his beloved children Kristina Fritts (Matt) and their children Grace, Luke, and Tyler of Annapolis, MD, Joshua of Panama City Beach, FL, Aaron (Nicole) of Lakewood, NY, and Nathan (Jenny) and their children, Steele, Otto, and Wilder of Mayville, NY, as well as a brother Terry (Janie) and nephews and nieces. Cremation was considered but was declined because everybody said he would spend eternity in a very hot place, so we put him in a box and buried him in Pine Grove Cemetery with many of his antecedents. There is no more to say. Services are private.
