Thomas R. "Nick" Nicholson, 57, of Warren, PA, died  unexpectedly on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at his residence.

Tom was born September 28, 1957 in Tidioute, the son of the late Roy T. and Margaret (Gesin) Nicholson.

Raised in Tidioute, Tom was a 1975 graduate of the Tidioute High School.  He was employed at the United Refining Company for many years, working in the boiler house, and most recently as a technician in the lab. He was an avid fisherman, who enjoyed that time with his sons, and his grandchildren.  He was also an avid reader.

Tom was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy S.(McGarvie) Nicholson, whom he married on January 21, 1978;  four sons, Thomas R. (Emilie) Nicholson Jr. , of Warren, Chuck Nicholson, of Sheffield, Andrew Nicholson, of Warren,  and Brian Nicholson of Pittsburgh; four granddaughters, Peyton Bailey, Ivy Moore, Star Nicholson, and Parker Nicholson; two grandsons, William Nicholson, and Maddox Nicholson; and two sisters, Margaret "Gail" Martin, of Tidioute,  and Sally Sabella of Tidioute. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Warren Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 278 Kinzua Road, Route 59, Warren, on Tuesday, January6,  from 12 noon until 2 pm, at which time a funeral service will be held, with Rev. Doug McKracken,  officiating.

Burial will be in Swedish Union Cemetery, Tidioute, at the convenience of the family.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Warren Public Library.  One of his favorite pastimes was taking his grandchildren with him to the library.  He really enjoyed that time with them.
