Thomas Martin Burroughs, 73, of Russell, PA, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at his home. Tom was born January 25, 1950, in Jamestown, NY, the son of the late Claude G. and Evelyn L. (Nelson) Burroughs. He worked as a substitute mail carrier in Russell for 15 years. He enjoyed astronomy, visiting, and a good meal. Tom is survived by his siblings, Christina Gray of Russell, Lucy MacLees of Columbus, OH, Richard Burroughs of Scandia, and Craig Burroughs of Hendersonville, NC; step- brothers, Harry Burroughs of Lake City, PA, and Claude Burroughs of Jamestown, NY; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Tom is preceded in death by a stepsister, Linda DeVlieger; and half- brother, Steve Pederson. A memorial service will be held at Wiltsie Community Church, 2981 Swede Hill Rd., Russell, PA, on Friday, October 27, 2023, at 2:00pm. Following the service, family and friends are invited to share memories and refreshments.
