Thomas E. Barkley, 59, of Warren passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, June 5, 2015, at UPMC Hamot Medical Center. Thomas was born January 22, 1956, in Johnstown, PA. Son of Minnie (Ott) Barkley of Pittsburgh, PA, and the late Meredith Barkley. Thomas had attended both Penn State and University of Pittsburgh, obtaining both his associate and bachelor degrees. He then moved to Warren, PA to work for Rexnord Industries. He had started his career as an engineer, and later as a Shop Foreman, as he enjoyed working on the floor more than working in front of a computer. He worked for Rexnord until they closed their doors, then began working at Cummins Jamestown Engine Plant as an engineering technician, and though he was on medical leave, was still employed there until his passing. He will be remembered for his incredible work ethic, and always lending a hand to anyone who needed it. In addition to his mother, Thomas is survived by two children, his daughter, Charissa Sensenig, and husband, Jeremy, Warren, PA, and son, Shawn Barkley, also of Warren, PA; two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Victoria Solberg; one sister, Pauline Torisky, of Pittsburgh, PA; one brother, Ted Barkley, of Alexandria, VA; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Penna. Ave. E., Warren, on Thursday, June 11, from 1 to 2 p.m., at which time, a memorial service will be held there with Rev. Marcus Briggs, chaplain, Warren General Hospital and Rouse Home, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Regional Cancer Center Foundation, 2500 West 12th Street, Erie, PA 16505.
