Obituary

Theodore "Ted" Gary Huber, son of the late Theodore Huber and Clara VanEvery Huber, peacefully passed away on April 21, 2017, at the age of 80 in Meadville, PA.  Ted was a lifelong resident of Warren, PA.

Ted is survived by his brother Earl "Spike" Huber of Warren, PA and his five children, Cheryl Huber McLaughlin of Washington, D.C., John D. Huber of Warren, PA, James A. Huber of Colorado Springs, CO, Jeffery S. Huber of Leesburg, VA, and Amy S. Huber Ceresa of Cape Coral, FL.  He is also survived by 11 loving grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and his sister-in-law, Lois Hornstrom.

Ted was preceded in death by the love of his life Carol Hornstrom Huber and his siblings Larry Huber of Erie, PA, Joan Huber Byer of Jamestown, NY, and Barbara Huber Johnson of Temple, TX.

Ted served in the United States Army.  He attended Warren Area High School and Clarion University.  He retired from the National Forge in Irvine, PA after 40 years of service.  He was a devoted caretaker for 35+ years for the Grace United Methodist Church, where he and his family worshiped.  Ted was an active member of North Star Lodge No. 241 of Warren, PA, the Occidental Royal Arch Chapter of Warren, Zem Zem Shrine of Erie, PA, the Zem Zem Clowns, the Valley of Coudersport Consistory and the Warren Moose Club.

Ted loved to swim, play tennis and strum his guitar in his spare time.  You could often find him in his garden tending to his tomatoes or pruning the roses at the church.  He was an excellent woodworker, a craft which he learned from his father-in-law Fred Hornstrom, and enjoyed making gifts for children in the Zem Zem hospital, where he also entertained them as "Yo Yo the Clown."  Ted loved dogs, especially his late companion Buddy.
