Solomon James Shepler, 71, of Warren died Sunday, June 5, 2016, at his home in Warren.  Mr. Shepler was born July 2, 1944, in Latrobe, PA. He was the son of the late Joseph and Angie (Bucci) Shepler.

Mr. Shepler obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Arts from California State University.  For 38 years, Mr. Shepler was the shop teacher at Eisenhower High School.  Early in his career, he was also a student council advisor.  In his spare time, he enjoyed bicycle restoration, and outdoor activities—hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Alexis M. Shepler; one son, Solomon D. Shepler, of Jamestown, NY; one sister, Yvonne Cordes, of Latrobe, PA; two brothers, Joe and Jerry Shepler, also of Latrobe, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jay and Jack Shepler.

Calling hours will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Penn. Ave. E., Warren, on Thursday, June 9, from 2 to 4 p.m.

In accordance with his wishes, no funeral services will be observed.
