Shirlie Jean Kauffman, 88, of Warren, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2019, at St. Vincent Hospital. Shirlie was born on January 2, 1931 to the late, Casper "Cappy" and Miriam (Mitchell) Kauffman. Shirlie graduated from Warren High School and went on to attend Grove City College. She was a member of the Christian Science Church, where she held the role of Organist and Reader for approximately 15 years. She was also a member of the Women's Philomel Club. Shirlie was a talented musician. She taught piano for 45 years to blossoming music students. She was a kind and generous woman, who touched many lives. She was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew her. Shirlie is survived by her children, Adrienne (Richard) Hines, of Warren and Shannon (Michael) Yahn, of Warren; a very close friend, Gwen Woodin, of Pittsfield; her granddaughters, Erin Scarpino and Francisco Almonte; her great granddaughter, Valentina Almonte; and her feline companion, Truman. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Richard Kauffman. Friends will be received from 1-2 pm on Saturday, May 25, 2019, at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc., 1003 Penna. Ave. E. Warren, PA 16365. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm, with Sandra Carberry, reader, officiating.
