Shirley P. Shine, 86, of Tiona, PA, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2017, at the Warren Manor, following a lengthy battle with cancer.

Shirley was born September 6, 1930, in Melfort, Saskatchewan, Canada, the daughter of the late Earl E. and Edith Campbell Patten.  She had been employed at the Penn Laurel Hotel, Allegheny Hotel, Holiday Inn, Carlson's Coffee Shop in North Warren, JVCC, Bell Telephone and Blair.  She was a member of the Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church and was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She enjoyed reading, painting, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by four children, Arthur W. Shine, of Russell, PA, Robert L. Shine, and wife, Julie, of Carson City, NV, Thomas E. Shine, of Lewis Run, PA, and Colin "Coco" Shine, of Tiona, PA; 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death on January 21, 2013, by her husband, Eugene L. "Gene" Shine, whom she married May 15, 1951.  She was also preceded in death on November 24, 2016, by her daughter, Devona Ducharme; brother, Campbell Mathison; two sisters, Margaret and Corrin Mathison, in infancy; and two sisters, Mrytle Mathison and Margaret "Peggy" Hoff.

Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Penn. Ave. E., Warren, PA, on Monday, March 27, from 6 to 8 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church, 11 Russell Street, Warren, on Tuesday, March 28, at 11 a.m. with Fr. James Gutting, officiating.
