Shirley J. Gray of Warren, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, November 28, 2016 at the age of 82 at the John and Orpha Blair Hospice House.

Born in Vanderbilt, PA on September 19, 1934 to the late Arthur E. Gray and Margaret L. Waller Gray, Shirley grew up in Charleroi, PA, graduating from Charleroi High School in 1952 before dedicating her life to caring for others through nursing. She graduated from the Allegheny General Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, PA in 1955, where she became an RN before moving to Warren. She worked as a nurse at Warren General Hospital, Warren Dental Arts, Sylvania, and spent nineteen years at the Rouse Home of Warren County as a nursing supervisor and RNAC before retiring in 1997. She is best remembered for her strong and caring heart, her feisty spirit, and her deep love and devotion to her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband Frederick W. Gray, two sisters, Uarda (Tiny) Chalfant and Ruth Weightman, and grandson Zachary Loree. Her legacy of love lives on through her daughter Brenda Loree and husband Jim, son Doug Gray and wife Dawna, all of Warren, grandchildren Jason Loree and wife Katrina of Russell, Jake Loree and fiancé Megan Truman of Pittsburgh, Katie Gray and Luke Gray, both of Warren, and great grandchildren Westyn and Ava.

Friends and family will be received on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with a celebration of life to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Inter-Faith Chapel, located at 33 Main Drive, Warren, PA 16365, with Rev. Marcus Briggs, officiating.
