Shirley L. Bennett, 89, of Warren, PA, died on July 1, 2021, at her home following a lengthy illness. Shirley was born August 13, 1931, the daughter of the late Stephen and Luella Kitchen. A lifelong area resident, Shirley was a graduate of the Sheffield High School and was employed at Blair Corporation in the Mail Department, from which she retired. Shirley enjoyed family dinners at her late mother's home, liked to play card games, watching her bird feeders at her home, growing vegetable, and beautiful flowers, and trying new recipes and foods. She had a sweet tooth for treats, loved laughing and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She always lent and ear and provided supportive words. She will be remembered, missed and loved always. Shirley is survived by two daughters, Elaine Wertz and Nancy Baughman; a son Gene Bennett; grandchildren, Kasey Petersen Deja and her husband Tom, Jobie Petersen and his wife Kelly, Shawn Wertz and companion Kristen Mead; great grandchildren Drew and Ty Deja, Kylie and Kaden Petersen, Graysen Wertz, and Baylee Mead; and a great grandson, Ramsey Bennett. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence (Larry) Bennett; a grandson, Chad Bennett, a brother, Russell Kitchen, and a daughter in law Larae I. Bennett.
