Segretta "Rita" E. Sodek Cole, 92, passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord on October 10, 2016, at the Rouse Home, Youngsville, PA.

Segretta was born on March 2, 1924, in Brave, PA.  She was the daughter of the late William L. and Ruth A. (Hamilton) Cole.

She possessed an independent and adventurous spirit.  This led her to work in a variety of fields including welding on barges in Pittsburgh, practical nursing, hairstyling school, waitressing, factory work, supervising housekeeping at a local bank, and lastly, dog sitting for friends.

She served in the US Navy in World War II, as a Seaman 1st Class, (WAVES), in Washington, DC.  She married Raymond H. Sodek in 1951 in Reseda, CA.  They lived in Waynesburg, PA, Chillicothe, OH, Canoga Park, CA, Pueblo, CO, several towns in PA, and settling in Warren, PA in 1968 when her late husband, Raymond, was employed in the construction of the Kinzua Dam.

One of her favorite hobbies was playing cards with her friends, crafts and cooking.

Most important in her life was her strong and steadfast faith and love of the Lord.  She was a great inspiration to her children.

She was a mother who will be remembered for her sacrificial and unconditional love.  No mother could have loved and cherished her children more.  Her happiest times in life were spending time with her family which brought her great joy.

She is survived by her four children, Theresa "Terri" Yucha, and husband, Randy,  of Bradenton, FL, Maria Cole, and husband, Lee, of Russell, PA, Gary Sodek, of Warren, PA, and Judy Flaherty, and husband, Kevin, of Gloucester, MA; 2 sisters, Renee Liu, and husband, John, of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Dianne Lang, and husband, Dave of Beyer, PA; 7 grandchildren, Jason Yucha, of Bradenton, FL, Jamie Pezzino, of Virginia Beach, VA, Jayna Spigelmeyer, of Greevnville, PA, Amanda Farr, of Fairview, PA,  Joshua Sodek, of Dallas, TX, Autumn Prestridge, of Houston, TX, and Jeremy Sodek, Phoenix, AZ; 2 step-grandchildren, Erin Holmes, of Essex, MA, and Ian Flaherty, Berkley, CA; 5 great-grandchildren, and one on the way; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, in 1994.

Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Penn. Ave. E., Warren, on Saturday, October 15, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, at which time, a funeral service will be held there with The Rev. Burfoot "Buddy" S. Ward, III, pastor, officiating.

In our hearts, we were blessed with the most loving mother in the world.
