Scott Robert Andersen, age 58, passed away on Saturday, March 3rd at UPMC Hamot hospital in Erie surrounded by family.
He was born December 11th, 1959 to the late Charles R. Andersen and Mildred M. "Peg" Andersen of Warren. Scott was a 1978 graduate of Warren Area High School and a lifelong resident. Following graduation, Scott enlisted in the US Navy and served in the Seabees for 20 years. During his naval career, he was stationed around the world, having served in Japan and Antigua as well as visiting every state with the US Navy recruiting team. Following retirement from the Navy, he worked for PennDot from which he retired.
Scott had many hobbies, including fishing, canoeing, camping, and having campfires in his backyard with his daughters and neighbors. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Scott was active in the Warren chapter of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
In addition to his mother he is survived by 5 daughters: Sarah Sandrock and husband John of Fayetteville, NC, Mary Andersen of Fayetteville, NC, Amanda Raffaele and husband Adam of Warren, and twins Susan Andersen and fiancé Jacob Rizzi of Pittsburgh, and Emily Moyer and husband Chris of Hazelton; grandchildren Hayden, Lillyann, Pheobe Raffaele, and Aaden Andersen; brother Todd Andersen and wife Veronica of Scandia; sister Lisa Brown and husband Jeff of Warren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his long-time partner Bonnie Andersen.
Friends will be received at the Peterson Blick Funeral Home Inc., 1003 Penn Ave. East on Tuesday, March 6th from 6-8 pm, and for one hour prior to a funeral service to be held there at 11 am on Wednesday, March 7th with Reverend Kevin Haley officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to the United States Disabled American Veterans Pennsylvania Chapter 75, 5 Firemans Road, Warren
