Sara Jennie Lyle, 89, formerly of Sheffield, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at Golden Living - Kinzua Valley.  Sara was born July 6, 1924, in Sheffield, PA, the daughter of the late John E. and Jennie D. Anderson Swanson.

Sara was a 1942 graduate of Sheffield High School.  She was employed by the school district as a cafeteria worker at Beaty Junior High School.  Sara was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, and a lifetime member of the Eastern Star.

Sara is survived by four children, Donald John Lyle, and wife, Linda, of Powell, OH, Jeffrey James Lyle, and wife, Wendy, of Coopersburg, PA, Faith Louise Murphy, and husband, Glen, of Transfer, PA and Drew Alan Lyle, and wife, Anne, of Abingdon, MD; five grandchildren, Justine Smith, of Columbus, OH, Glen Murphy, Jr., of Corry, PA, Jason Lyle, of Hilliard, OH, Hannah Lyle, of Powell, OH, and Evan Lyle, of Abingdon, MD; one great-grandchild, Ryley Murphy; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Sara was preceded in death on December 12, 1989, by her husband, W. Donald Lyle, whom she married on August 28, 1944; and five siblings, Loughton Swanson, Charlotte Daly, Geneva Cartwright, Mae Swanson and Virginia Swanson.

Friends will be received at the Peterson - Blick Funeral Home, Inc, 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, PA on Friday, May 23, from 6 to 8 p.m., and on Saturday, May 24, at the Grace United Methodist Church, 501 Penn. Ave., E., Warren, from 12 noon to 1 p.m., at which time a funeral service will be held there, with Rev. Kevin Haley, pastor, officiating.  Burial will follow at Warren County Memorial Park.
