They donated funds for the Robert and Sally Metzgar Admissions and Alumni Center at Penn State Behrend and created the Robert and Sally Metzgar Leadership Scholarship, which empowers three students per semester to pursue their education. In recent years, Sally was a member of the Blue Stocking Club, Antique Study Club, Warren County Historical Society, and the Garden Club. She and her daughter, Kathy, enjoyed taking Special Studies Classes at Chautauqua Institution over the last several years. Sally's hobbies were gardening, genealogy, and reading.
