Catherine Ruth "Ruthie" VanCise Gray, 86, of Russell, PA, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at UPMC Hamot in Erie, PA.

Ruthie was born April 1, 1938, to Ernest VanCise and Francis Dunlop VanCise. Ruthie was a 1956 graduate of Northern Area High School. On May 11, 1957, she married Lloyd F. Gray at Cable Hollow Church which lasted 65 years which was characterized by devotion and love to one another and yearly vacations to Myrtle Beach and raising their 3 sons, Lenny, Jeff, and Terry.

Ruthie became a born-again Christian at an early age and rededicated her life to the Lord at the age of 30 after which she became a missionary under BCM International (Bible Centered Ministries.) She taught Release Time Religious Education classes in Warren County schools for 50 years.

Ruthie is survived by a loving family, three sons, Lenny Gray and friend Carol of Russell, Jeff Gray and wife Cynthia of Russell, and Terry Gray and wife Shelli of Russell; grandchildren, Alex, Stephanie, Natalie, Alyssa, Alicia, Ben, Teagan; great grandchildren, Parker, Decklin, Raury, Fia, Mason, and Flint; brother, Larry VanCise and wife Lori; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Ruthie was preceded in death on October 7, 2022, by her husband, Lloyd; four sisters, Janet, Joann, Lillian, and Corky; and three brothers, Billy, David, and Danny.

Friends will be received at Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, 1003 Penna. Ave. East, Warren, PA, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Saturday, August 31, 2024, and for one hour prior to a funeral service to be held at Cable Hollow Community Church, 3157 Cable Hollow Rd., Russell, PA, on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at 2:00pm, with Reverend Allan Jones, pastor, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Warren County Bible Club, care of Leanna Ashe, 41 Fuller Ave., Warren, PA, or to Cable Hollow Community Church, 3157 Cable Hollow Rd., Russell, PA.
