Obituary

Ruth A. Bupp, 73, 41 Weiler Rd., died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002 at Saint Vincent Heath Center after a lengthy illness.


Mrs. Bupp was born in Oil City, Pa., on February 16, 1929, a daughter of the late Charles and Hazel Silvis Turner. She graduated from Tidioute High School in 1947. While attending school she worked for the late Kathryn and William Fullhart, at Weller's Ice Cream Parlor, and at the Zippo plant in Bradford, Pa.  After graduation she was employed for a short time at the New Process Company. In 1952 she worked at Camp Breckenridge, Kentucky and then at Walter Reed Army Hospital while her husband was in the Armed Services. She then returned to New Process Company in 1953 and worked there until 1958. She moved to Warren in 1955 and then to Starbrick shortly after that where she resided for the remainder of her life. She served as the treasurer of the Starbrick TV Association for several years and also as a Den Mother for the Starbrick Cub Scout Troop.


She was a charter member of the of the Pequignot/Yeager VFW Post 8803 Auxiliary of Tidioute and later a charter member of the Starbrick Community Church. Music was a vocation that she enjoyed as she was in several choirs most of her life and she was also a church and wedding soloist. She enjoyed sewing, canning and baking and won several ribbons at the Warren County Fair.


She is survived by her husband, Joshua C. Bupp, whom she married April 3, 1948; a son Mark C. Bupp, Starbrick; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Charles W. Turner.


Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick funeral home from 7-9 p.m. Friday and for one hour prior to a funeral service to be held at 11 a.m.  Saturday, with the Rev. Daniel Keefe officiating. Burial will be at the Warren County Memorial Park. Memorials can be made to the new Warren General Hospital Cancer Care Center c/o WGH Development Office, PO Box 68, Warren, Pa; the Blair Scholarship Fund, or to a charity of choice.
