Ruth A. "Adeline" Canavan, 95, of Cherry Grove, PA, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Golden Living - Kinzua Valley.

Adeline was born December 30, 1917, in Cherry Grove, PA the daughter of the late Henry and Flossie Howard Sorenson. She was employed as an aid at the WarrenState Hospital from which she retired. She was a member of the Cherry Grove Community Chapel, where she played the piano.

She is survived by her children, John Canavan of Clarendon, PA and Jeanne Beers, Ludlow, PA; a brother, Myron (Joyce) Sorenson, and  a sister, Janice Fedorchick; five grandchildren, Melody (Robert) Bierbaum, Ninette (Lloyd) Maxwell, Jennifer Sweet, John Canavan and Melinda (Benjamin) Jones,; ten great-grandchildren, Paul (Allison) Grinnell, Christian Bierbaum, Lancus Maxwell, Abigail and Randwolf Sweet, Deandra, Benjamin, Alijah and Calista Jones and Nathan Canavan; two great-great grandchildren, Hannah and Caden Grinnell; one sister-in-law, Florence Sorenson; and several nieces and nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Campbell; two great-grandchildren, Danielle and Nichole Grinnell; four brothers, Carl, Kenneth, Ralph and Warren Sorenson; three sisters, Grace Abraham, Mary Anderson and Geraldine Sorenson.

Friends will be received at the Peterson - Blick Funeral Home, Inc., 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, on March 27, 2013 from 5 to 8 p.m., and also for one hour prior to a funeral service to be held at the Cherry Grove Community Chapel, 6676 Cherry Grove Road, Clarendon, PA. 16313 at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2013, with Rev. Jeanne Beers, retired chaplain and pastor, Polk Center, Polk, PA, officiating.

Burial will be in the Sorenson Cemetery, Cherry Grove, PA.
