Roger B. Lindell, 83, Lander, Pa., passed away on August 29, 2012, at Golden Living Kinzua Valley.
Roger was born June 4, 1929, in Farmington Township, the son of the late Homer and Lucy Firth Lindell. Roger was a graduate of Lander High School. He was employed as an electrician for many years. Roger was a lifelong resident of Farmington Township, where he was a farmer, and was the 1985 Conservation Farmer of the Year with his son, Homer. He was also a maple syrup producer for many years. Roger was a member of the Lander United Methodist Church, a charter member of the Lander Volunteer Fire Department, and a member of the IBEW Local 56. He enjoyed dining at McNutter's restaurant, where he subsequently had a burger named in his honor, the "Roger Burger."
He is survived his wife, Alice L. Lindell, Lander, Pa., whom he married on March 5, 1955; son, Homer A. Lindell, and wife, Pamela, Lander, Pa.; two daughters, Joyce Brown, and husband, David, also of Lander, Pa. and Linda Chase, and husband, William, Warren, Pa.; one brother, Bruce Lindell, Lander, Pa.; eight grandchildren, Corey Lindell, Ryan Lindell, Beth Eastman, Robin Lindell, Scott Brown, Andy Brown, Jordan Chase and Jenna Chase; two great-grandchildren, Alex Lindell and Reese Eastman; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Henry Lindell; three brothers, Allan Lindell, Kenneth Lindell and Richard Lindell.
Friends will be received at the Peterson - Blick Funeral Home, Inc., 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, on Friday, August 31, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., and at the church for one hour prior to funeral service to be held at the Lander United Methodist Church, 5466 Rt. 957, on Saturday, September 1 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Wade Barto, pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow at the Foster Cemetery, Lander, Pa.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lander United Methodist Church, 5466 Rt. 957, Russell, PA 16345 or the Lander Volunteer Fire Department.
