Robert Youngquist, 96, formerly of Clarendon, PA and Nokomis, FL, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2016, at the Rouse Home. Robert was born January 8, 1920, in Clarendon, PA. He was the son of the late John and Jennie (Carlson) Youngquist.
Robert served in the US Navy during World War II. He was employed by Pitt Des Moines for forty-two years before retiring in January 1982, and took much pride in helping construct the St. Louis Arch. He also enjoyed wood carving.
He is survived by one son, David A. Youngquist, Sr., and wife, Linda, of Clarendon; one granddaughter, Laurie Maxwell, and husband, Mike, also of Clarendon, PA; one grandson, David A. Youngquist, Jr., Erie, PA; two great-granddaughters, Mikayla Maxwell and Randi Youngqist; two great-grandsons, Jacob Maxwell and David Youngquist, III; five great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his many friends, including those he met at the Rouse.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death on April 12, 2011, by his wife, Lorraine Johnson Youngquist, whom he married September 14, 1940; his son, Dennis Arthur Youngquist, in November of 2014; four sisters, Ruth Baker, Evelyn Peterson, Alice Champion, and Florence Hedlund; two brothers, his twin, Richard Youngquist and Harold Youngquist; and his great-grandson, Denny Youngquist.
Services will be private, and at the convenience of the family.
