Robert K. "Bob" VanOrd, 72, of Fairbanks Road, Russell, Pa., passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2012, at his home.

Bob was born February 18, 1940, in Pine Grove Twp., the son of the late Gid and Marion Ludwick VanOrd., he was a 1957 graduate of Eisenhower High School.  He began his career as a butcher with Livzey's Custom Butchering.  He then worked for thirty three years as a meat cutter for Quality Markets. Upon retirement from Quality, he worked part time for Coffaro's Custom Butchering.  Bob was an avid Cleveland Indians and Brown fan, enjoyed woodworking, his family and especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Roberta "Birdie" Rhoades VanOrd, Russell, Pa.; his children, Robbin VanOrd, Randy VanOrd, Roger VanOrd, and wife, Ronda, Rhonda Ryberg, and husband, Steve, Jerry VanOrd and Joe VanOrd; his grandchildren, Chad, Cayla, Curtis, Steven, Eric, Graham, Clayton, Joey and Gavin; his sister, Margaret Dalrymple; and his brothers, Donald and Kenneth VanOrd.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Norman VanOrd.

Friends will be received at the Peterson - Blick Funeral Home, Inc., 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, on Monday, September 24, from, 5 to 8 p.m. and for one hour prior to a funeral service to be held at the Lander United Methodist Church, 5466 Route 957, Russell, on Tuesday, September 25 at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Wade Barto, pastor, officiating. The family also requests that guests dress casual for both the calling and funeral.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Lander United Methodist Church, or the American Heart Association.
