Richard Lee Latimer, age 81, of North Warren, died Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Kinzua Healthcare of Warren.  Richard was born March 8, 1935 in Warren, PA. He is the son of the late Leon M. Latimer and Gretchen Holcomb Latimer.

Richard was a 1954 graduate of Warren High School. For a brief time, he was employed by the Warren State Hospital as an aide.  He also worked as a machinist in the boring department at the National Forge Company for 20 years from which he retired.  He then helped run the family saw mill.  Richard will be remembered for his great sense of humor and his love of animals.  He was very artistic and often made crafts for local markets.  He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Leila Knapp Latimer, whom he married February 10, 1956; three sons, Richard L. Latimer, James W. Latimer and John S. Latimer, all of Warren; two grandchildren, David J. Latimer, of Warren, and Nichole A. Knight, of Springborough, OH; one great-grandchild, Cheyenne Latimer; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his half brother, Lyle Latimer.

Friends will be received at the Peterson - Blick Funeral Home, Inc, 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, on Wednesday, January 25, for one hour prior to a service to be held there at 11 a.m., with David Mariner, chaplain, officiating.  Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
