Richard J. Lodowski, 59, of 8 Ball Drive, Warren, PA, died unexpectedly on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at his residence.

Rick was born July 28, 1953, in Warren, PA, son of the late Joseph and Stephanie Zarczynska Lodowski. A lifelong Warren resident, Rick was a 1971 graduate of  Warren Area High School,  and then attended the Jamestown Business College, earning an Associate's Degree in Business. Rick was presently employed as the Director of Purchasing at the Warren State Hospital, and was formerly employed at Keystone Subaru, and the United Refining Company.

Rick liked sports and had pitched baseball with the Pittsburgh Pirates minor league team.  He also enjoyed playing league softball locally for many years.  Foremost, Rick loved his family, loved to cook,  his many friends, and caring for his home and garden.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Oleksak Lodowski, whom he married on October 3, 1992;  his son, Richard Anthony Lodowski, at home; a sister, Halina Carbon and her husband James, Warren; an aunt, Kazia Zarczynska, Warren; a sister in law, Ann Vizza and her husband Lou, Warren; his father in law, Tony Oleksak, Warren; two nieces, Alicia Gatto and her husband Dr. Rob Gatto, Russell, and Mollie Vizza VanOrd and her husband, Adam, Warren; two nephews, Peter Vizza, Jim Carbon, of Warren; and great nieces and nephews, Gracine, Alaina, Jude, and Seth Gatto.

In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by his mother in law, Jeanine Oleksak; and a great niece, Adalyn Gatto.

Friends will be received  at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 600 Pennsylvania Ave. W. ,  Warren, on Tuesday, July 16, from 10 to 11 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am.,  with Fr. Richard  J. Toohey, Pastor, officiating.

Internment will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery.
