Richard Frederick Hause, 90, of Warren died Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at Warren General Hospital. Richard was born December 5, 1924, in Warren, PA. He is the son of the late Dewey F. and Marie L. Hause.
Richard was a graduate of Warren High School, and then attended Hoff's Business College. Richard served in the US Army during World War II. In addition to being a Purple Heart recipient, he received many medals and honors including Bronze Arrowhead, Victory Medal World War II, American Theater Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with Two Bronze Stars, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with Two Bronze Stars and a Good Conduct Medal. He also served in the Korean War, where he received a Korean Service Medal and United Nations Service Medal. After returning to Warren, he worked for the US Postal Service, retiring after forty years.
He and his wife were members of the First Lutheran Church. Richard was also a member of the American Legion Post 135, the Joseph Warren Lodge, and the Purple Heart Association. He enjoyed bike riding, spending time in the woods, hunting and fishing.
He is survived one daughter, Laura C. McWhirter, and husband, Mike, of Warren, PA; and one son, Timothy R. Hause, also of Warren, PA. He also has five grandchildren, Amanda Bosko, Ryan Casey, Sam Lindquist, John Lindquist and Jonah McWhirter, four great-grandchildren, Kendra, Elizabeth, Kyler and Kaylynn.
A memorial service will be held at the Peterson - Blick Funeral Home, Inc, 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, PA 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 31, with Rev. J. Maier, pastor, First Church of the Nazarene, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 2816 Elmwood Avenue, Erie, PA 16508.
