Richard C. Hamilton, 83, of Reading PA, died Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Chestnut Knoll in Boyertown.

Richard was born on June 13, 1931 in Warren, PA.  He was the son of the late Lothair E and Dorothy J (Andersen) Hamilton.

Richard graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Penn State University in 1953, where he was a member of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity. He received his Master's in Education from Temple University.  He served in the USAF as a 1st Lieutenant in the 25th Supply Squadron from 1954-1957.  Richard taught high school mathematics in the Antietam School District, Lower Alsace Twp, PA, for thirty-nine years. He was a member of Pennside Presbyterian Church.  He always enjoyed visiting with the school's alumni and appreciated them sharing their experiences.  He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and hunting with his sons and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nancy C (Kahl) Hamilton; two sons, James and wife Sharon, and David and wife Pam, all from Raleigh, NC; one sister, Ruth H Gibson, of Trooper, PA; brother-in-law, George H Kahl of Paoli, PA; two grandsons, Daniel and Thomas, granddaughter, Michelle; great-granddaughter, Haylie; and nieces and nephew.

A prayer service will be held in his memory at the Pennside Presbyterian Church, 253 N. 25th St. Reading, PA 19606 on Saturday, Dec 13, 2014 at 1:00 PM.  The family will be receiving friends at the church fellowship hall, following the service.

Burial will be in the Foster Cemetery, Lander, PA.
