Richard L. Domville, 82, of Carver St., Warren, PA, died Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at St. Andrews Village, Indiana, PA.
Dick was born December 17, 1933, in Pittsburgh, PA, the son of the late Cyril K. and Katherine Gertrude (Manning) Domville. He was a 1951 graduate of Avalon High School. He then served two years in the U.S. Air Force, stationed in Europe and North Africa. Following his service, he received a B.S. in Education from the Indiana University of PA, then a Master of Education Degree at St. Bonaventure. He and his late wife were members of the Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church, where he served as a Lector.
Dick was a teacher at Sheffield and Warren High Schools from 1969 thru 1990. From 1960 thru 1969 in Williamstown, NJ, he was an Assistant football, basketball coach, and baseball coach, going to states in 1967. He was an Assistant football coach at Eisenhower High School in 1969, and the Head football coach at Sheffield High School from 1970 thru 1976. As a PIAA basketball official, he enjoyed refereeing games with his good friend, Bob Hovan. He was an avid Steeler's fan. Dick enjoyed spending family time at the ocean, especially with his grandchildren. He also liked to hunt and fish, mostly for the time he could spend with friends.
He is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth Wolfe, and husband, Brent, of Lancaster, PA; three sons, Stephen Domville, and wife, Danette DiMarco, of Prospect, PA, Daniel Domville, of Pittsburgh, PA, and Robert Domville, and wife, Holly, of Warren, PA; eight grandchildren, Ashley Thompson, Katherine Domville, Sydney Domville, Olivia Wolfe, Lila Domville, Sarah Jean Wolfe, Sean Domville and Harold Domville; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Adia Thompson; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death in 2005, by his wife, Jean Ann Wheaton Domville, whom he married in 1956 in Emporium; two brothers, William and Thomas Domville; and sister-in-law, Marcia Domville.
Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home Inc., 1003 Penna. Ave. East, Warren, PA, 16365 on Friday, March 11, from 5 to 7 pm.
As Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, March 12, at the Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church, with Fr. Jim Gutting, pastor, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions be made to the Disabled Veteran's of America, 22080 Green Hill Road, Farmington Hills, NJ. 48336, or to Paws Along the River, 212 Elm Street, Warren, PA, 16365.
