Richard Arlen Bonafede, 71, of Russell, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at his home in Russell.  Richard was born March 5, 1944, in North Collins, NY.  He was the son of Lorna (Johnson) Mosher and the late Charles Bonafede.

Richard obtained his Bachelor's Degree from University of Buffalo, and obtained his Master's Degree from Campbell University.  He was employed as a mechanical engineer at the National Forge, retiring at age 65.  Richard was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Warren, PA, where he was very active in the choir, and baking his famous cookies for various events.

In addition to his mother, Richard is survived by his two children, Gaetano "Guy" Bonafede, and wife, Gina, of Grand Island, NY, and Brandy Lee Bonafede-Gore, and husband, Randy, of FL; four grandchildren, Makenna, Joselyn, Jacob and Lucas; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, Richard was preceded in death by his three brothers, Danny, Wayne and Ted Bonafede.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., on Friday, October 16, at First Presbyterian Church, 300 Market Street, Warren, PA with The Rev. Jeffrey Ott, pastor, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018.
