Richard A. Barrett Sr., 84, of Clarendon, PA., passed away on January 28, 2023, at his residence following a recent illness. Richard was born on February 5, 1938, at his home in North Warren, PA., the son of the late Hugh O. and Mae English Barrett. He was a 1957 graduate of Warren Area High School then served nine years in the Army National Guard. He worked for over thirty years at Osram Sylvania where he held many positions. Following his retirement, he drove school bus until November 2022. Richard enjoyed playing horseshoes and was a two-time World Champion. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge North Star Lodge #241, the Farah Grotto, and the Zem – Zem Shriners. Richard is survived by his children Richard A. Barrett Jr. and his wife Peggy of Clarendon, PA, Kimberly A. Hoffman and husband Tim all of Clarendon, PA; Stepsons, Fred Carter and wife Karen of Harrisville, PA, Charles Carter of Youngsville, PA, and Shawn Carter of Kempner, TX; three siblings, Raymond Barrett, Leota (Lee) Barrett Jones, and Jean Barrett Swartz; several grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife Paulette Halle Barrett; and two brothers, William Barrett and Hugh Elton Barrett.
