Rhody B. Hotaling, 70, of Miller Hill Road, Warren, PA., died unexpectedly on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at Warren General Hospital after being stricken at home.
Rhody was born September 8, 1943 in Brookville, PA, the son of the late Grandville B. and the Ethel Cole Hotaling.
Rhody was a 1962 graduate of Eisenhower High School and was a driver at Crossett for several years. He also drove truck for various other companies. He was then a Maintenance Manager for Waste Treatment Corporation, from which he retired in 2007. He was presently employed with Cargo Auto Parts.
Rhody enjoyed making people laugh, was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed sports in general, and always enjoyed hunting and fishing. He will always be remembered for his quick wit and great sense of humor, and as one who always put others first. He enjoyed many friends and especially loved his family.
He is survived by his wife: Mary Slack Hotaling, whom he married on June 18, 1982, one daughter: Lori Mead and her husband Ray Van Ord; and three sons: John Schumann and his wife Robett of St. Stevens, SC, Rhody J. Hotaling and his wife Tabitha of Lander, PA, and Chadd Hotaling of Warren, a daughter in law, Tina Edwards and her husband Doug; eight grandchildren, Joshua Benjamin and his wife Jessica, Devyn Scalise and her husband Cody, Amanda Schumann, Cassidy Edwards, William Schumann, Cameran Edwards, Catrina Edwards, and Tonya Hotaling; one great grandchild on the way; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at Peterson - Blick Funeral Home, Inc, 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, PA, on Tuesday, November 5, from 6 to 8 p.m., and on Wednesday, November 6, for one hour prior to a funeral service to be held there at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Rick Hamrick, pastor, Youngsville Free Methodist Church, officiating.
Memorials may be made to charity of choice.
