Obituary

Reoma “Ramie” L. Colvin, 79, of Warren, PA, died Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at Kinzua Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Warren, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Born December 13, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Cornelius and Nina (Camp) Beckerink.

On June 13, 1970, Ramie married Roger Colvin, her caring companion of 56 years. Side by side, they shared every part of life together, from tending their garden to delighting in time spent with their grandchildren.

A 1965 graduate of Clymer Central School, Ramie spent time in high school as an exchange student in Norway, an experience that shaped the rest of her life; she remained in touch with friends from that time. She went on to earn an associate degree from Alfred State College. After 38 years at Warren General Hospital, she retired as a Senior Technician and Lab Manager. She and Roger were members of the former Epworth Methodist Church in Warren’s east end.

As a family we could never decide if Ramie was happiest: with her garden gloves on working the soil growing vegetables and flowers, creating beautifully decorated cakes and cookies, or standing in her kitchen filled with the comforting aroma of a meal made with love. What we do know, with all our hearts, is that everything she did came from her deep and abiding love for her family: and, most especially, her cherished grandchildren.

In these coming winter days, we can so easily picture her curled up with her garden catalogs, searching for just the right tomatoes, peppers, and onions to start from seed come spring. Or we can imagine her online, lovingly planning the perfect family dinner, a menu with something for everyone, complete with entrées, sides, and desserts, all tied together with a special theme. Those quiet moments of planning were, in their own way, another expression of how much she cared for each of us. We will miss her more than words can say.

Ramie is survived by her husband, Roger; sons Matthew Colvin and Scott (Cassandra) Colvin; beloved grandchildren Christopher, Casey, Alyssa, Nora, and Henry; siblings Cynthia (Neil) Sturges, Sally Beckerink, and Neil (Joni) Beckerink; sister-in-law Jackie (Paul) Rhodes; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Nelson Beckerink, and his twin, Norton, who died in infancy; and her brother-in-law, John Colvin.

The family extends special thanks to Dr. Dale McNett for his many years of friendship and his support throughout her illness.

Arrangements are entrusted to Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc., 1003 Penna. Ave. E, Warren, PA 16365. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, to be announced at the family’s convenience.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ramie’s name may be made to the Warren Public Library, 205 Market St., Warren, PA 16365; the Cancer Care Center, 105 Lee Street, Warren, PA; or the Kiwanis Club of Warren, Inc., ATTN: Annual Kiwanis Club of Warren Blood Screening, 208 Liberty St., Warren, PA 16365.
