Raymond William Zang, 84, of Keller Road, and formerly of Export, PA, died June 1, 2018, at the John and Orpha Blair Hospice House.
Ray was born on September 20, 1933, in Pittsburgh, PA, the son of the late Phillip and Margaret (Merz) Zang.
Ray served the in the US Army during the Korean War with the Signal Corps. He was employed by the the Alltel Telephone Company serving as the Senior Long Term Planning Engineer in the North East Region.
An avid outdoorsmen, Ray loved hunting, fishing and sitting on his deck watching the hummingbirds and feeding the deer and wildlife. He also enjoyed the company of his friends at the Peppermill, loved his family and especially his grandchildren. Ray will be deeply missed by many.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Rubright Zang, whom he married July 11, 1964, in Export, PA; daughter, Leann Mehok, and husband, Douglas, of Guys Mills, PA; two grandchildren, Evan and Kyle Mehok; and one sister, Dorothy Tanner, and husband, Richard, of Camden, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Gephart.
In accordance with Raymond's wishes, no visitation or services will be observed.
