Ramsey Walters Llewellyn, 83, of Clarendon, PA, passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2023. Ramsey was born on February 4, 1940, the son of the late Pearl L and Everett B Llewellyn,, in Ridgway, PA. The family relocated to St. Marys, PA when he was 2 years old. He graduated from St. Marys Public High School in 1958 and went on to attend Grove City College where he graduated in 1962 with a BS in Metallurgical Engineering. He moved to Warren, PA after graduation to work for GTE Sylvania in the Wire Plant Engineering Dept., retiring after 26 years in 1990. During his employment he enjoyed travelling and made many long-term friendships with customers, sales reps, and co-workers.
Over the years Ramsey served at the First Lutheran Church as a cook for Senior Fellowship for 25 years, the Church Council for 2 terms, and the TAP Program for several years. He drove for the American Cancer Society, delivered for Meals on Wheels, was on the committee for the Warren Jaycees 4th of July parade, and he spent many hours helping the Sports Boosters in Sheffield. He also was a proud member of the Sylvania Woodchuck Club and a frequent visitor at the Humane Society.
Ramsey had a great love for Lionel trains. He was meticulous in the building and care of his 7' x 21' train layout. It was truly his pride & joy! He liked collecting cap guns and other wild west memorabilia, as well as Mettlach steins. He loved to travel, loved the outdoors, was an avid hunter and fisherman with Brown Run being one of his favorite spots.
Survived by his wife of 33 years Karen; 3 children, Beth Nelson (Kelly) Warren, Amy Daugherty (Lee) Virginia, David Llewellyn (Amy) Warren; 2 stepchildren, Amy Llewellyn, Warren and Jared Kusiak, Warren; 4 grandchildren, Christopher Nelson, Sadie Lassman, Jacob Daugherty and Danielle Vaughan; and 4 great grandchildren.
Family and friends may attend a viewing that will be held on Thursday, August 24 at 10:00 am at First Lutheran Church, 109 3rd Ave., Warren with services to begin at 11:00 am immediately following. Celebration of life gathering will follow the services.
Memorials can be made in Ramsey's memory to the ANNA Shelter, First Lutheran Church, or the Warren Public Library.
